In March Andrew Gamman commenced ministry at East Coast Bays Methodist Parish. “It was rather a difficult start,” says Andrew, “ as my first Sunday was immediately after the Christchurch terror attack. On the Saturday I threw out everything I’d prepared and started again from scratch.”
Andrew is no stranger, having worked previously in the Parish when they transitioned to a lay leadership model. There is still a strong volunteer ministry team, but Andrew’s role is to oversee the team and organise the Sunday services. Andrew is married to Caroline and their two oldest children are still living at home. He is a keen fisherman with a ministry background that includes church planting and theological education. His colourful and varied ministry has involved being an on-air radio host, visiting field projects in Outer Mongolia with World Vision International, and staying in a Hutterite Community.
