2010 Parish Meetings Calendar

This calendar will set meetings for the year on a perpetual basis so that they will always fall on a Tuesday over the same period, ie monthly or bi-monthly.  For 2010 the calendar will be modified to accommodate the Local Shared Ministry Teams requirements.  It will be published as soon as the dates and teams are finalised.  This could be sometime in being prepared.

Occasionally a meeting day will be changed for an important reason, perhaps to accommodate a special topic to be discussed and resolved, but all members of the meeting would be notified.

These dates to note apropos the Local Shared Ministry:

Congregational Meeting

In April this year we plan to appoint a Ministry Support Team to ensure the effective continuation of the ministry of the parish. Each team member will, in turn, have a team working with him/her.

At 7.30pm this Tuesday 9 March at Trinity we have a parish congregational meeting to decide on the composition of the Parish’s Ministry Support Team. Back in November last year the Parish Council produced a draft document suggesting a team of seven with associated job descriptions. This document is available from the church foyers and will be the basis for our discussion.  I will also raise the suggestion that there could be additional team members who take specific responsibility for ministry functions in the All Hallows congregation.

The new Ministry Support Team will replace the present Leaders Meeting. A final Parish Leaders Meeting will be held at 6.30pm at Trinity on Tuesday 16 March.

Friends of the Scientific and Medical Network

.

At our Annual General meeting on 11 November, 2009, members David Bell, Murray Stentiford, Max Thomson, and Leo Hobbis were elected as the Steering Committee for 2010. At its subsequent meeting on 10 December the new Committee elected David Bell and Leo Hobbis as Chairman and Convenor respectively.

Our main aim in 2010 will be to consider how best we might ensure a durable future for the Network. We will not be holding regular monthly meetings this year but will arrange special meetings if suitable opportunities offer.

Now that our website is no longer running, the Committee is examining how we might best use the internet for communication between members. We will also be exploring the possibility of participating with other interested groupings in holding a small conference on some issue of common interest.

Best wishes - Leo Hobbis   Tel 441 7402
